One balance in dollars. Every QR code abroad. The rate on the screen before you tap.

Every time you pay abroad,
your bank takes a quiet cut.
3–6%, hidden in the exchange rate.
So we built something different.
Valuto. Pay like a Local.
The receipts
Pick a destination and a purchase — then read what each card actually charges.
The math nobody shows you
Four ways to pay for the same small purchase abroad.
| Comparison | Bank card | Airport exchange | ATM withdrawal | Valuto |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Typical all-in cost | 3–6% | 8–12% | 5–7% + ATM fee | ~2% |
| Rate shown before you pay | No | Sometimes | No | Yes |
| Works at small local merchants | Rarely | Cash only | Cash only | Yes |
Most of what you lose isn’t a fee with a name on it. It’s the exchange rate — quietly a few percent worse than the real one.
Three steps
Top up in dollars or euros from your bank, card, or Apple Pay.
The one already taped to the counter. Nothing for the merchant to install.
They’re paid instantly, in local money. You see the rate and fee before you confirm.
Coverage
We launch next where our members are going.
Nothing hidden
We show you the exchange rate and the fee on the same screen as the amount, before you confirm. Not on your statement three days later.
Safer by design
Paying by QR doesn’t just skip the fees. No card, no PIN, and no cash also means the oldest travel scams have nothing to work with.
No magnetic strip or chip ever goes into a machine — so a tampered ATM or card terminal has nothing to clone.
You never type your card PIN on a shop keypad where bystanders or a hidden camera can watch. Every payment is approved on your own phone.
The merchant only receives a payment confirmation — never your card number or banking details. If their system leaks, nothing of yours is in it.
You pay the exact amount on the screen, in their currency. No notes handed over, no change counted back wrong on purpose.
